I joined this wiki because: A community of like minded people can grow a movement with decent principles and allow all to learn and develop in promoting sustainable, responsible travel.

My specific sustainable tourism-related interests are: Encouraging visitors to the lesser known Isan (or Northeastern) region of Thailand, on a small and localized scale, to promote employment at the village level and the traditions and folklore of the region around Rice Paddy Villa, a holiday villa in the heartlands of Udon Thani province. Interaction between the villagers and guests can help foster a pride in indigenous traditions and protect the local culture, whilst also underlining the importance of good practices in reforestation, waste disposal and recycling and organic farming.

My sustainable tourism-related hero(es):
 Those villagers who have slowly come to understand the objectives behind the property and to espouse our values: change is only made gradually, yet those who come to see the potential of sustainable travel soon become its best advocates.
