Mai Po on the northwest coast of the New Territories, neighboring the Deep Bay, is the China's 7th Lamma Marshland which is a series of shrimp and fish ponds, and endless stretch of mangrove forest and the muddy swampland a paradise for birds and invertebrate and also a resting-place for migratory birds after making an arduous long journey. The area having recorded about 430 kinds of birds. 50 species are of the internationally acknowledged birds found in these protected areas. October to April the following year is the season for the migratory birds to stopover at Mai Po Marshes. Which gives rise to the panorama of a birds paradise. For the visitors who are interested in natural beauty, this is a destination that cannot be missed.
