Know any local tour operators who are shining examples of responsible tourism? The recently launched Geotourism Challenge 2009 (http://www.changemakers.net/geotourismchallenge) gives a platform for these great local examples to shine.... there are also prizes on offer (http://www.changemakers.net/geotourismchallenge/whlintrepidprize) Do you find this valuable?

Hi Shaun,

Check out the MTCO's new website "Responsible Tourism Guide to the Makong" at http://www.exploremekong.org/responsible. There are some good examples of all sorts of tourism-related businesses there.

This is a great organization that helps pair people up with the right voluntourism group and helps to provide the means to get there through discounted airfare, travel tips, and other great resources! The president of the company has a great heart and passion for helping people and encouraging voluntourism. Its so great how they empower people and motivate them to make changes for the better!

Greeting from Nepal
My Name is B.B. Bhandari. I am operating trekking and tours in Nepal. Nepal Government of Nepal decided on October 25, 2008 to launch a national tourism campaign "Nepal Tourism Year 2011". This event also called "Visit Nepal 2011". This announcement reflects the government’s anticipation to bring into Nepal at least one million international tourists by the year 2011 and tourism industry’s exigency to organize a tourism promotion campaign for wider impact.
